Laser Cutting: Alternative Materials

Class Overview

This class will push the limits of what laser etching machines can do with different work piece materials. The most common materials used for the laser machines are Wood and Acrylic, but there are an amazing amount of materials that can easily be used on the lasers! There are obviously different types of wood, but there are even more exciting materials like stamp rubber, 2 color plastics, paper, glass, pumpkins, and much more!

Many novel and exotic materials will be demonstrated on how to cut/etch, as well as the ideal uses of each of the materials.

Whats Next After I Take This Class:

It’s suggested to attend the Laser Cutting authorization classes for hands on practice using the machines! If you’ve already taken the class and are authorized to use the machine, your encouraged to try to make your own cool things.

We suggest you visit HexLab during open hours to practice and our staff can help answer any questions.
