Summer Camp Session 2: Arduino Communication

Camp Overview

In this session, we will dive deeper into the world of Arduino and Integrated Circuits (ICs). We will learn how ICs talk to each other and share data, including methods such as Serial, WiFi and Bluetooth. We will also learn how to use an oscilloscope to capture and analyze the circuits we build. The second half of the week will be spent building and programming our own WiFi enabled Full Color 8x8 LED Matrix Display.

Class Cost

Summer Camp Session 2 totals $445, this includes $395 camp cost + $50 materials cost. All campers will bring home all materials and components after the camp to continue exploring and building their electronics skills.

Project

During this one week camp, students will create and program a WiFi enabled Full Color 8x8 LED Matrix Display.

Age Requirement

This camp is for children ages 10-14 years old.

Summer Camp Session 1: Intro to Arduino and Electronic Components

Camp Overview

In this week long program, children will be introduced to the basics of electronics and Arduino programming. We will start with components like resistors, capacitors, and diodes. Next we will move onto more advanced electronics such as transistors, integrated circuits, and Adruino microcontrollers. We will finish up the week with a project build which incorporates all the components we encountered along the way. The project, Arduino and a handful of components will be yours to keep and further explore on your own.

Class Cost

Summer Camp Session 1 totals $465, this includes $395 camp cost + $70 materials cost. All campers will bring home all materials and components after the camp to continue exploring and building their electronics skills.

Projects include

During this one week camp, students will create and program a Motion Detecting Alarm, Hand Held Reaction Test and an 8-note Piano.

Age Requirement

This camp is for children ages 10-14 years old.

Electronics Project Build and Take Home: Arduino Gear Box Project + Intro to Arduino

Class Overview

This class explores the basics of micro controllers. Arduino is a great platform for learning about circuits and how to program micro controllers. For those who don't have experience with circuits or micro controllers it can be hard to know where to start. In this class we will see the basics, so that you can get experimenting and learn how much fun can be had with circuits. We will also learn how to control Servo Motors and build a gear box controlled by an Arduino.

Class Cost

    • $50 for non-members including materials costs. You will be getting your very own Arduino micro-controller, laser cut parts, servo motor and power supply to construct your project which you will bring home with you at the end of class.

    • $40 for monthly members including materials costs to build your very own take home project (parts listed above)(you do not need to be a member to attend our classes, however, members do get discounts!) Learn about membership

Prequisites

  • None, anyone can join and create beautiful art

Materials Used

Arduino Gear Box Kit (You will take it home) -Osciloscope -Power Supply -Please bring your laptop, although we have available computers at our shop, it is recommended to bring your laptop for future practice outside our shop. Please have the Arduino Software installed on it before arriving to class. Choose 'Download the Arduino IDE' from the Arduino software page
